I believe that no one in a life threatening situation should be responsible for covering the entire cost of an SAR. I think it would cause more trouble since people may not issue an SOS right away because of the cost that might incur. We have SAR teams for a reason. Having said that, maybe there should be a fine for a poorly plan event like this. This guy is an idiot, risking his life and negative publicity for kiting.

Also, fending off sharks? What is this guy Aquaman? Since he was the only one out there I am not really buying that part of the story. Although I did fend off the lockness monster once while kiting....but that's for another thread.
