WTB: For H2O, 15m, beginner board and wetsuit

Hey guys! I posted this on the chicagokitesurfing forum, but was hoping maybe I could find a bigger audience here.

I don't know how much time it'll take for me to learn how to kite on the water, but I'm proficient on land on an ATB. I just need a lightwind board for this summer, and I'd prefer it if the board also functioned well as a beginner board. I'm a college student, so my budget is limited. An old board in good condition will work, as long as it meets the criteria above and is durable enough to last a while. I don't care about the year or make, because I'd love to get a Spleene Door, but realistically, the funds just aren't there. I'd prefer a wake style board to a surf style board. If anyone has an old 15m inflato, I'm also hoping to get one for Lake Michigan this summer. While I'm at it, a used wetsuit would also probably be useful. I'm 6'3 and 185lbs. I don't know about sizing, but, for a college kid eating a microwaved can of beans for dinner, your closets are full of buried treasure.

I'd love to see what some of you have lying around and collecting dust.

Thanks!!!

KK,

Don here from SC. I have a 2010 13m EH Ovando which isnt a beginners kite but looks like you have kites skills in the bank. The Ovando is as powerful if not more so than a 15m Bow/SLE kite. As for boards, something with minimal rocker and a flat (non concave) bottom will get you up an plaining early. Spleene RIP 138x44s are great boards. I believe forum member Ragden has one for sale? I have a KGB Comrade board. KGB Kitesurfing out of Jacksonville, Fl designed this board and it rocks. You can email them or Im thinking one of our forum members has one for sale. Check the for sale ads. Board has minimal rocker and flat bottom. Great lower wind board and the $$$ is good. I payed $285 complete 3 years ago...............

Let me know about the kite and Ill keep my eyes and ears open for a solid starter board......................:duh:

When I started, my instructor recommended a Slingshot LFT for the light winds we have in Socal. Big long wide board with a lot of volume. In my experience, volume is highly underrated. Made a huge difference for me (I'm 6'5" about 215lbs). It's old school so you should be able to get it at a good price...just my $.02.
