NABX 2012
Dean and I first went to the desert back in 93, soon made many trips to the desert both to Ivanpah and El Mirage over the years. I have not buggied in
the desert since 2003 at the Spring Break Buggy Blast. So officially, this was my first NABX and I was very proud and happy to be part of the NABX
Team and deans helper...
I met dean and his wheel chair at the airport, got our house (mini van) did some running around for the event and finally ended up at the RIO hotel
and I got to do some dancing on the outside top of the rio bar...Met up with the Flexifoil guys and Blake, Olivia, Corey and many more. Next day off
to Harper dry lake bed after stopping by the locker and picking up the equipment, stopping for food, and sleeping bags etc..... 5 days with about 30
buggiers with gusty winds at Harper, but a couple of night buggying and morning buggying, and great friends helping each other more than made up for
the harsh conditions and camping. But so much fun! I loved the isolation of Harper although the lake outside of the little "Bay" was ruff, but there
were a few nice short trails (pucker bumps) and lots of places to go. Thanks to Blake for lending me his 1.5 power kite, the only way I could actually
buggy at times....
Then off to the locker again to drop off some things and pick up others, ending up at Ivanpah followed by 5 more days of buggying with many buggiers
from around the country and world, awesome meals and parties in the tent and a good nights sleep at the hotel...
Sunday was tear down day for the NABX TEAM (staff) and then monday back to the playa one more time to ensure the playa was clean and then one more
trip to the locker, and then airport.
I was so happy to be part of these events, thanks dean for inviting me.
I hope you enjoy my video and we hope to see many of you from all over the world at NABX 2013!
Sincerely Dodd
