ATB noob

Since my LEI kite is still out of commision, I've been playing with the 3.5 Trainer kite. Its been windy here 15+mph so this kite has been perfect for goofing around. Ended up bringing the ATB to the park too. Actually got myself cruising around.
I've had the board for a few months but have been to fixated on getting to the water that I never really used it.
So took the 3.5m and board out again today and got some good speed and broke in my helmet.

Yes I finally got a helmet for those who have seen my other videos of me jumping around. Got up to 17mph (per cell phone GPS) before crashing into a rock....stupid fixation! I think I found myself liking this land boarding sport :wee:

guess that's why people say learn to fly your kite without looking .... then you can focus on the rocks:smilegrin:... I may have to try this ATB thing ... I manage all right on a snowboard so seems like a logical progression .... except up here the year consists of 7 months of winter and 5 months of bad skiing

Lots harder to fly your kite w/o looking in 15+ with a smaller kite, much easier with 6-8 m in 10-12 winds...

fixed bridles, flying static, been two years now... ??? folks must be wondering....

sting 1.7, dp power 2.5, crossfire 3.2, ace 5, blade iv 6.5, ace 8, ace 12...

also a couple of arcs, 12 syn and 12 phanny, but i\'m not yet up to speed on them.

Would love to try out a one of my bigger kites with the board but still getting the feel for it. Otherwise, this kite is very squirrelly in these winds. With more practice and cleaner air, I am sure I will be able to control it better. Had a 3 story building directly upwind that was causing a lot of shifts and gust in the wind direction. Either way a lot of fun and soon I'll have the big kite back up and running
