How much for the venom II 16 and is that more powerful than a Syn 15?

I know the VII has a much higher projected area but for some reason the windrange calculator for arcs says they are similar.

Do you have any prices in mind? I may be interested in the 10m Pulse.

Not an Arc expert by a long shot, but I think VII 16 would fit nice with your Syn 15. You should probably look at "projected area" which is kite exposed to the wind when you are fully powered. Syn 15 is 9.2 m2 and VII 16 is 11.3 m2 ... that actually seems like a pretty decent spread.

For example, syn 12 is 7.4m2, 15 is 9.2 m2 and syn 19 is 11.6m2 ..... so a spread of about 2m2 sounds rather decent ... actually, the VII 16 is very close to my Phanny18 so it flys "big" so to speak from the area projected to the wind.

So I believe since the projected area you can turn to the wind is larger, this kite will have more "power" than your syn if you fly them in the same windspeed. Conversely, I believe it will perform better than the syn at lower windspeed, again because there is more projected area to grab the wind.

Bigbear's assumption about the size/PA is probably pretty close. In the Venom days I would ride a 10m Venom for 90% of my high wind sessions but found that I was flying the 12m Syn in the same conditions when I switched to that model. AR on the Venom is 5 (I think) and the Syn's AR varied with a given size but it was just slightly lower (except in large sizes) than the Venom.



The 13m Venom used to be my go to all rounder but then the 15m Syn, then Charger, then Phantom 2 have been my go to size.

Even if there is some overlap the 16m is just a sweet cruising machine.
