Been asked by a few people and thought I would ask here,
Any one interested in a demo of the Century Soulfly? If so, about what size?

If enough want to sign up, I would be happy to send one around.

Hmmmm... going into summer, a 6,8,or 10 would sure be nice to give a go on those windless days...

If it comes north I'd love to give it a look. This is the one I 'coulda/woulda' bought after all the UPS fees I got hit with bring the Brooza up here. (so yeah...if it comes north, send it USPS )

I wouldn't mind trying out a 6M. Or even an 8M for that matter since summer here means not much wind to be had.

my 6.5 treated me real nice at SOBB. How are the newer versions compared to the old ones? I think mine is a 2007 or so

If it is white on the bottom with the design on the top, has the adjustable AOA, it is the Century II.
The Century Soulfly is the newer one and it does not have the adjustable AOA(I have added it to a few of mine), It is faster with more response. it will go a bit farther in the window, and it has more power. It is closer to a race kite than the older version, but with more forgiveness than a race kite.

It would be easier to ask, what is the difference between the Century Soulfly and the Combat. The Century is a bit slower, Not nearly as twitchy, is a little forgiving were the Combat needs to be run all out and with clean winds. Not so with the Century. The Century is used by a few of the team riders in Europe to race with, and they do quite well.
I have a set of the II's and fly them ever so often, but the Soulfly is so much better. To bad you left before I got down there, you could have tried a few of mine. Guess you'll have to sign up for the pass the Century and see the diff for yourself.

It also does not have the massive side pull when going upwind like the Combats can.

Unfortunately, I will need to be removed from the pass program as that size range will be too small for our summer winds here. Please let me know if you plan to put a bigger size in the rotation.

Hey WG...can you help explain this to me as I'm not understanding. I thought because the combat is a true race kite, it would fly more forward in the window and thus generate less sideways pull as opposed to a kite (soulfly) that sits further back and probably has more grunt?

If the wind isn't perpendicular to the beach, coming in at an angle. Downwind will be good but when you turn to go back upwind,you still go ,but with an incredible amount side load. It has to do with the high aspect ratio???? (5.5) . or maybe the fact that a Combat is like a Blade shaped wind scoop. It's bowl shaped when inflated....
