If you want to get the most out of jumping, then go with depower. you'll be able to hold down a bigger kite in stronger winds and go huge. It's also
nice not having to worry about kite collapse

I've tried the ATB on both. FB just frustrates me on an atb and I usually hop in the buggy and have a blast. This year at JIBE I decided to try my
Phantom II on the board. I'm sold. Depower all the way!!
Mucho better in gusts, more kite in the air, was easier to balance with a bar IMHO, nice and floaty when I did jump. Damn I love depower!!

Find an old frenzy, montana, ranger, or PL with some life left in it... You could be able to get one around 3-400ish if it was mad in the mid and
later 2000s

I only go to fixed bridle and the board as a last resort. Large and small for the extremes. If winds are decent depower is the perfect match.
Jumping is far better with a good depower.
The Ranger is a good kite for it's day. Not a bad place to start on a budget. Arcs can be good bang for buck as well.
Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.

12m eskimo III for sale here http://www.live2kite.com/gin-kites-eskimo-iii-high-performan... and might fit the bill if the winds are closer to 10-15 on grass. 7-10 on grass
might be a stretch at your weight if the grass is thick or long.
For low winds I'd recommend a foil over an arc unless you want to deal with pre inflation issues or carry a portable leaf blower to assist you.

Not sure what ur wind is but a big arc could possibly work but whatever manufacturer, I agree depow is the way to go.
Broader wind range alone is worth it.

From what I'm finding, larger arcs really start to come alive in 12-15 mph. I'd suggest a depower foil maybe 14-15m.

I think a 14-15m kite will turn too slow for me
it will make it hard for me to redirect because i wont have enough room at my local field where i fly 80 percent of the time

I find bigger kites don't have to be redirected so aggressively because they have so much more float as long as you don't send them too far behind you
it is OK that you don't bring them back in front of you. You may not roll away fully powered but you'll land soft enough.
If that is a true concern for you though, then your only alternative is a 8m-ish fixed bridle which will be great around 7 and quite something else at
15.

If a good day is 7 - 15 then the 19m Venom Arkay has for sale may be worth a look?
I can't speak for the Venoms but my 18m turns Just fast enough for my small park and serves me well in 7 - 15mph. At 15 I have the luxury of moving to
15m / 12m arcs.

Don't go with FB for landboarding/ serious jumping.
I mean it's fine if thats what you got, but a depower has more safety features and stupid awesome loft

depower is my choice,
definitelt the biggest difference between the 2 types FB/depower. has to do with rider balance and technique.
FB most all the balance with the kite is thru the shoulders and upper body, typically "unhooked " but usually with a handy strop for cruise and
breaks.
Depower the balance is thru the hips and legs because of the harness. which can be unhooked but most depower units are best hooked in.
which is best? depower for range, and safety unbeatable.
FB is where most ALL start in kiting in general, so the intro to LAND BOARD is mostly FB that progresses to harnessed(strop) then eventually to
depower.
kite pilot skills are somewhat different to yield the same airs, basically the kite action is the same, just FB operated by handles and depower thru
a bar system.
simple start-> unhooked FB-----> FB+strop+harness--> depower+harness --->depower unhooked.
UNHOOKED FB is an important part that is usually far too short in practice AND THE benefit is that when you go to depower YOU ARE UNHOOKED READY.
now which kite to buy ? get an arc , get a tube , get a FB depower. get some FB foils.
the more you mix it up and master each type the greater the reward.
