Epic Fail/ Kitting in Crocs

So I rush to the beach after work cause its seems perfect ,,,blowin like 20kts out of the south on my hometown east/west strip of sand. Open up the trunk after doing things for the 4 extended families of mine living in town all during the long wkend, stare at 6 different kites, and OMG..no sneakers or harness. I grab my mtboard and two 3m handle setups 1 w/ a strop??? Cant head to the house cause if my dog or kids see me then I’m done for the night. So I trudge across the sand in my Crocs. Start setting up realize it’s blowin more like 30kts down here. Only been able to board 3 weeks now and never been able to hold down 3m in 30+ very long static but here goes nothing. It was like the reoccurring nightmare when I was a kid and showed up at the bus stop in just my underwear. Got ripped out of my shoes like 8 times before I tried barefoot and found those tires turning like 9000 rpms near my toes a bit too uncomfortable for me. So I try the Crocs again and soon fig out there is just no way this is gonna happen. I log about a mile in total rides than I get off the board and learn to enjoy the rest of the eve w/ a little foray into jumping till I couldn’t hold on any longer and figure better to come out of this unhurt……45min latter it’s truly dead calm on the beach. So many things I will never forget, hope tonight is as interesting.

are they comfortable to hike in? Man, when i hike, its a balance between tough and super comfortable... weight has never crossed my mind lol! a little rubber clog with holes would not fly "in these parts"

Too many animals that bite before you notice 'em..... my redwing work boots are my hiking go to (and double thick carhart jeans)..... got pegged by a rattle snake one time.... glad i had those boots on!!!

i'd bet those jeans and boots total close to 12 lbs! well worth it!

Crocs are the greatest invention since duct tape. Once you get them on it's tuff to wear anything else. I never really thought of them for hiking but for me work and play - all the time. Been thru at least a dozen pair. Not to bad for scudding the beach as well, but ATB is a no no. New they are a good boat shoe till u wipe out the tred pattern.
