Yamaha R6 Fender....hmmm Kite buggy
Nabx 2011, it was this year I saw Coolbreeze's front fender on his Apexx, all he could tell me was it was from a 1990s Yamaha...and he found it in a
breakers yard.
Well there are none of those around where I live so I had to make do with Ebay....and it would be trial and error, I saw the R6 fender and thought
maybe, so went for it and won the fender. When it arrived, I found it was 20mm too wide to fit between the forks, I cut a segment out of each side
until it fit.
I then had to work out a way of fixing this thing, so I made up some brackets (below) so I could use the existing fixing points on the fender, its now
rock solid....I finished it off with a mudflap made from a heavy duty vinyl floor tile.

Sweet stuff popeye. Your buggy and bling skills make me wish I could do more than change the oil in my car. I can see why BBob is switching to these
wheels . . . They just shout "speed" when you look at them

looks nice.
are you using the normal bf downtube together with with the standard small wheel fork/risers ? im looking for a new front too as the normal bf
fork/fender look odd with the disks - your combo seems to fit.

To bad your not good at this buggy building thingy!!
Seriously Carl this is amazing. Looks like it was designed to be on there from the start. You are a man of talent AND skill. Some combine these two
attributes however they are not often found together.

Gives the bug a bit of elegance, looks a bit like a Cadillac.
I really like the mud flap, floor tile material, where would you use that material at? the round buttons is the top or bottom? Any reason the pics
were black and white?
Maybe BB could use your help with his new wheels. :dunno:

Pops that is awesome how you made that look like it was made for the purpose. Most don't have the skills to pull off a retrofit like that and it look
right.
My wheels are in and thanks to Popeye for making me the parts to run the discs on the Hero buggy. Parts will be here in the next few weeks for the
Hero. Parts coming from Holland for the Apexx as well.
We don't need fenders here so much as we need stone guards. On the playa, the front wheel kicks up small stones and you can hear them pinging the
rear axle if you are moving fast. I'll have to possibly make a new one for the Apexx and explore options worthy to be on the Hero buggy.

Now see! That's how rumors get started. Saying little stuff like that causes ripples around the kite community. I'll get 3 u2u's this afternoon!

It can be found in some shops, the round buttons are on the top.
I like like black and white photos, I do take a lot like that....the guard is silver in colour anyway.

Very nice Carl !
I think the BIG lesson here is that motorcycle scrap yards are a gold mine . You should check around Vegas for a fender for the Hero Bob. The one
Grant found needed very little fabrication to fit like it belonged.

Grant and Pops are a special breed. I'm a real DIY guy but I have limitations on vision and making stuff look "just so".
