I called Morrie to tell him I was late, my plane was delayed almost 3 hours. I left the rental car company at 7pm Monday night, not bad, but the
transmission would'nt shift, then another customer ran over my buggy and bag (no damage, lucky) so in another rental by 8pm and arrived at buggy
camp around 10 and the party was just winding down but I was so happy to be there. Partied a bit, slept in the car, jim hooked me up with a tent,
sleeping bag and mat, thanks Jim, and I would like to give you a day by day report, but since I went to Ocean shores Wa for 5 days (camping)
afterwards, the days all kind of run together.
I know one day, maybe the end of the first with 12mph NW winds I discovered, or re-dicovered my "Freestyle" side and had a blast spinning and learning
not to look as I spun around on my new PL XR. I learned how to up turn finally after all these years and gained some confidence back in my freestyle.
By the second day I was there, Everyone was leaving, but although the winds were light, we had a great time. Dieder lent me a 10m Panch which came in
handy and Chris logged in many hours with his 11.2 PL and the coolest buggy on the planet! He asked me to ride it, i did, and it was so stable I didnt
think it would spin, but it did, and it tracked backwards so nice too, what a buggy! But I did fine in my little inexpensive one! LOL....
and by the 3rd day, it was only Chris and I left. So we buggied up and down and had a great time. Then the canadians came and a couple of others
giving us about 4-8 people on the beach. The last day for me was Friday and I was determined to get in some buggying since you cant where I was going.
So , rain buggying and soon most of were out there. Not the greatest conditions, but I enjoyed my time with my fellow buggiers and new friends, some
old too, just as much as NABX or DBBB or WBBB. I hope to come again and this time, be there while the entire crew is there. I am on Face book and
invite all my new friends to friend me so we can keep in touch. I want to thank my sponsor, Skydog kites for sending my out to the west coast, your
kites are much smaller than everyone elses, but performed on par, I was very pleased and Skydog Power Kites IMO, made another excellent showing and
this time other buggiers actually took them for a test spin and liked them a lot....., and to my other sponsor, ME for the car rental....Thanks to
buggy camp and all the cool people, I will be back! Also want to thank Andy and his wife from Ocean Shores Kites, the main reason I cam out to the
west coast in the first place, you guys are awesome!
Then off on one of the most beautiful drives I ever had up 101 to Washington on a empty tank of gas and a cop behind me for 26 miles....arriving in
Ocean Shores for the Color the Wind Kite Festival. I was on a flatter, bigger, more packed beach with onshore winds, for 4 days teaching dual line and
some power too, but for some reason I will never understand, no buggying, even in the no drvie zone..... I hope to return to the west coast and all of
you soon, thanks so much everyone, I will miss you till the next time!
