Just like to say got my new speed 3 today and all I have to say is wow didn't think it was going to be that good, only got to ride it for about 15 minutes but I had the biggest grin on my face since I first got up and started riding for the first time.

Don't think I will ever used a LEI again, I currently have a Cabrinha 11m Nomad and a 15 Synergy and the are both going up for sale. I don't know why more people don't use these, there frigging awesome kites. The FS S3 12m has the same pull if not more then the 15 synergy.

Anyway just thought I would share my thoughts about my new kite and how happy I am with it.

hehe, needless to say, you are pretty happy. Still need to give the speed3 a go myself, heard it's almost in a class of it's own for float and jumping.

But, you might want to get the speed3 out at the higher end it range and then put up your nomad to compare how it feels in the same winds. I am guessing the nomad would still have wind range that is still usable for you

I'm betting you're wrong on the windrange, KD - it's MHO that my FSers have at least a 10 knot usable range or "sweet spot"; compared to 5 knots on my LEIs.

Why don't more people have FSers? What Cheddar said and just wait till you bowtie it or have to swim in :o Like I keep saying - if you can live with the foibles, they're freakin awesome. LEIs have their own foibles too though ...

Oh yes I ride on the water but just got a mountain board so going to give it a go but a bit scare of the power and don't have really big beaches or parks to ride it in, there is a park of decent size but there is a road nearby that a worry a little about.

ya, could be Kami, you have more water experience and you do own a speed3. but, 5 knots? that's it?

either way, better to test in out in your particular location and conditions twojay before selling anything. I heard those nomads have nice upper ends, so may be useful enough to justify keeping.

Cheddarhead, how much time have you spent with flysurfers. I have been amazed by the bridles. When compared to my other bridled kites the flysurfer bridle tangles come out super easy. A couple of well placed tugs and twitches of the bridle lines and done. Not as simple as an arc or bridled LEI but not bad.

Tip loops are about my biggest issues with the bridles ... for all the hours I put on the FSers though, that's only stranded me once. Tangles are a non-issue, except for the few seconds I spend before the launch checking them ...

You really need a even grassy field or a sandy beach for setup of those bridles. I have wanted a S3 but the location I rig has many non-bridle friendly features like roots that create tangles.
