Kiters in SE Utah, SW Colorado? Moab, UT
Hey everyone, First post... Cool Board.. I've been lurking for a month or so..
I've never actually flown before, but I'm seriously looking to begin a quiver of my own and fall down the rabbit hole.
I have a unique landscape to enjoy here in the deserts and would love to bring this hobby to my hometown. The unique location offers several kiting
sports opportunities and I want to see which ones fit me best.
I've found some training schools in Salt Lake City, but have yet to commit the 3 days I would probably need to take the classes.. SLC is about 3 hours
away from me. I'm more of a learn on my own kind of guy anyways.. reckless as that is..
Anyways.. I was wondering if there are kiters in the area and if they'd like to have a newbie watching them and learning with them...
My area offers spots for buggy, ATB, River Gorge(colorado river), and Snow Kiting (La Sal mtn range).. Winds are prime in the Spring and Fall..
Ranging from 10 - 30mpg, with general steady flows from the south... Some of the canyons breath north in the morning, and south in the evening...
especially the river canyons where I hope to be boarding one day...
Well, Hello everyone..
Peace

Welcome; I am up in Denver as is erratic winds. Give us a shout if/ when you come to town. There is also an active dual line group [I am
working on converting them to "real" kites ] [Rocky Mtn. Kite Assn. on Meetup
& Yahoo Groups] that meets somewhere in the metro area just about every Sunday.
Several of us/ them are planning to go to Antelope Island Kite Fest [outside SLC] over Labor day and they have assured me there is room for buggying/
boarding.
NASA wings -1 to 12m [mostly KM4]
Foils -2 -12m [mostly PL & Pansh]

Denver
So I'm stoked to see there are people on this board that live in Denver, cause that's where I live!
I'm pretty much a newb when it comes to power kites, but have been flying 2 lines stunts kites for a while now. I've been spending way too much time
on the internet the past few weeks reading, watching videos, and learning about big kites. I'd love to hook up with some kiters in the area that have
big kites/buggies/boards, etc.
I joined the RM meetup group, and even showed up late to the Sunday meetup in Longmont (no wind, and didn't see anyone with kites, apparently everyone
went to WY?). I'll be at the Friday meetup in Stapleton as well, and would love to see some bigger kites than what I'm used to flying (HQ Symphony
1.4).
Hope to see some of you there. Cheers,
-Jeff

Flying in the Mountains
Hey all,
I too live in the front range. Also new to the sport and looking forward to the trials and tribulations of being a mountain kite fanatic. I am
interested in flying, land traction activities and going over to Lake McConaughy. Been flying every day this spring around the Boulder area.
I dont make it down to Moab much anymore but I'll bet Lizard Head Pass is going to be pretty cool this winter!
