Suds

I am a regular at Nahant and I'm up for a get together. I am sure that a few others will be too. It is a long way to come to get some kiting in, are you here on vacation or business?

I have to tell you that wind is not the only thing you have to worry about. Nahant is an urban beach and can become un-kitable due to crowds during the summer, especially if it is a hot day. I checked the tides and low tide is at 6:45. This is encouraging because later in the day people go home and leave us some beach to play on and often a smooth sea breeze will kick in. It being a weekday and not a weekend will also help.

A friend of mine is flying into Logan, so picking him up gives me the excuse to drive north and have some fun beforehand or maybe after... Don't know his arrival time yet.

I'm coming to visit the family and friends for 5 weeks of summer vay-Kay

@cheese how much would the auto parts weigh? Thats my only hang up. Otherwise happy to be your delivery man.

Suds

Glad you are coming. 5 weeks in some vacation; I am jealous. Nahant is less than 1/2 hour drive from Logan. Would love to hang with you and maybe get some kiting in.

Are you bringing gear or would you like to borrow some?

U2U or email me

Looking forward to Friday. I'm planning on heading to the beach at 4:30. Any particular place to look for? Of course, I could always head for the kite in the air:eureka:

But if I get there first, where should I set up?

Generally...

..a single line kite will be flying on beach at parking spot area by one of the Nahant crew. I can't say for sure or what kite will look like as the usual flyer has lots.

Beach should be mostly clearing out by 4:30...if there's wind, a power kite(s) will be up pulling someone.

Someone should be there before you, though.

..if you're first one there, they typically park down before fenced in construction debris pile at 3 ft concrete wall w/the only set of steps up to boardwalk . It's a $3 parking fee -entrance at Tides Restaurant at end of causeway. Enter and drive 3/4 way(3/4 mile) back down parking area and look for it.

Suds

We are looking forward to having you down, I hope we have some good winds.

One of the buggiers is having his daughters birthday party at the beach starting around 4 so I am sure that you will not be the first there. As Brian said enter near the tides restaurant and go almost a mile down and look for the kites. I will try and get down by 4.

See you in a few days
