Landboard for the beach

I want to purchase a landboard for use on the beach, anyone have any recommendations? I would also like to use the it for hard surfaces as well, but primarily for the beach.

Thanks

any landboard will do as long as the sand packs down and isn't super soft or wet and mushy. There aren't beach / grass specific boards. You can ride any board on any packed surface. If the sand is super soft I'd be thinking about a buggy with bigfoot tires or a heavily modified board.

you need hardpack to ride a beach, if it's soft you aren't really doing it on a board without serious mods(like giant marshmellow tires)

Tide? What's a tide? Man, it's 1000 miles to any ocean.

Hmmmm

That board looks like it would run on our Semi packed bays ? My board struggles greatly even with soft wheels.

Is this a commercial product ?

The production board with the biggest out of the box tires is the Flexboardz Haize. It has 9 inch tires for a bigger surface area for weight distribution. I have some video of riding on softer sand that I need to finish editing but I will try and post something. The sand isn't as soft as the softest stuff in the video posted above but it is definitely too soft at my 200 lbs for my boards with 8 inch tires.

Too bad there isn't information on the size of those tires above. Indigo? can you help?

Adding another board into the mix probably doesn't make the decision easier for you. There area a lot of good products out there. I like Flexboardz the best.

I was looking at my board and it would appear I have clearance to mount tires like those ?
Cheaper to just get tires + stick with one board? Haze is SWEET but I'm not sure I would use it enough $$??
These look the job ? Much bigger and I doubt they would fit ?

I need to go ride my board stock right now but while I'm away somebody find those tires online will you ? ;-)

10x3 (260x85) Light Gray Pneumatic Tire, Ribbed

Often called "Granny" tires, especially in the UK because their primary use is on electric mobility scooters. Run abou $15-$20 per without inner tubes, even though you can occasionally find deals on them.

Here's one source:
http://www.quickie-wheelchairs.com/products/10x3-260x85-Ligh...

You need hubs that will take 9-10 tires like MBS Tri-Spoke, GI Mult-Hub, etc.

Lots of diversity in buggy tires, but playing around with tires on boards... not so much. Always struck me as strange, as it would seem to have just as much if not more impact.

ATB,
Sam
