You guys (and gals) that live near Sullivan's Island are soooo lucky! What a great place to fly.
Betty Jo and I drove down to Chucktown to spend the 4th.
The afternoon at station 28 on the sand bar was fantastic! Not as crowded as I thought it would be.
Early wind was SE @ 5-7 but by 5pm the breeze was more like (est.) 15-18 and a handful for my skill level.
My new 5m Scout was kickin my butt again just like it did at JIBE! Probably too much kite for the wind speed.
I can't believe the power that kite has! I'm no light weight but the Scout treats me like a limp rag!
But all in all we had a great time. Got to fly several of the kites in the quiver. We also counted 12 other C's ripping up
the Bath and the other side of the break and a few fixed bridles having a good time as well.
This was my second time to the island and I'll be coming back many more times fer sure.
Next time I'm going to bring my buggy and float it across the Bath if I have to.
It's worth the 3 hour drive from Aiken.
The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.
