line length

I think this was discussed in the past but I can't find the post

I found a good deal on 18M lines. I fly inland, usually in 15-20 mph with occasional 25-30 mph gust. I think all my lines are 20M. Will I notice a difference with 2M shorter lines? Will it make the kite perform better or worse?

Shorter lines will reduce power, speed up steering, allow you to get into areas that longer lines won't, makes looping tricky if low in the window, good for learning with if starting on a full size wing.

We run longer lines to get the wings above the chop caused by treeline etc. and to get more speed and power out of the kite. Short lines are fun for getting into tight spaces like channels and for riding in parking lots.

18m is an odd length for lines? I would consider that + low price a red flag ?

What make / type of lines are they?

Some of my Ozone line sets are 18m. Can't imagine I would notice much difference between 18 & 20. Certainly notice a big difference when I swap from 18 to 30m....almost feels like I've added an extra meter to the kite.
