They were telling us about this last year when we were talking to them about partnership avenues. My understanding is that it is only for a restricted period of time per year, not all year long. It helps with promoting sporting events as people can be/stay close by and not have to travel from the RV park outside town. This will help Morays pier generate revenue so they want it bad.

Chad is exactly right. They were definitely very sure this was going to happen. Good thing is, it really should not be in the way. I know this spot very well, it is mostly out of the way nevermind an errant kite with onshore wins. If you end up here, something definitely went wrong. It is right about the spot where the wind usually dies out on you when they are coming from the NW. You know the dead spot just past the fishing pier that you must already be moving pretty good or you will be stuck there with others trying to figure out how you are going to get moving again. There were a bunch of us stuck in that spot last year at the fall bash. I am going to inquire about this when I go over to talk with WW contacts about the October bash coming up. It may help some out that want to stay in their campers, it could be expensive!

Seriously? You can't fly a kite at this beach here or there cos of 'environmental issues' but you can drive your evil wagon of pollution right onto the beach?
Cos it's too far to walk?!? I'm with the protesting residents.

Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

You definitely can't fly kites from Memorial Day to Labor Day, but come late Sept. to April, it's on!

Kami, sometimes you just can't beat money. These people are serious about making money.

They say it will only be for motorized, self contained RV's (Class A,B,C,). We have a 5th wheel so no go
I also read WW is requiring and supplying "drip" pans under the RV's to catch any oil or holding tank fluids.

Donnie just hot wire in and jump right over them!! I bet a good rain and some RV's getting stuck in the soft wet sand things will get ugly. As for the drip pans some of these big bus campers have Detroit's in them. They will need a suction system for them!!

Is this another artist installation from Christo?

...:wink2:

The majority has no power..

Did most of the full time residents want this? Did they have a vote or was it just decided by the minority(few) in political and financial power.

Why are these necessary? Cant' RVs line up in parking without these. How bout a bunch of temporary rods and nylon tape. Oh no...

I hope the RV's hit them constantly( and they will) and ruin the set up or kids burn them down. Not for the sake of kiters... but for the locals and others who want an unspoiled beach.

I can't get a handle on the set up here. Are they going to line them up stem to stern, bumper to bumper? What if the one in the middle wants to leave? As I see it there is not room to turn out to the side to leave. I guess they have it all figured out. Looks very annoying to me.

don't get set up either, Dave..

as you say... little room for independent maneuver if you're in the middle of the bunch and leaving before others next to you....?

you think they got it figured out?....They ... THINK they got it figured out... but I'm not convinced at all.

If it doesn't look like it makes sense... it usually doesn't.

I'm telling you...they're gonna knock 'em over..left and right.

also...

*Resident's from nearby beaches already say they've watched RV's get stuck in sand elsewhere on similar beaches.

*How do you stop RV's w/ gas/oil leaks from entering beach and polluting sand?......( you won't)
