Hi, I'm newpick (or i thought thats what i typed in)
So i'm a letter off.
But in all seriousness I've been watching this forum a over a year and have a great interest in starting to learn to kitebuggy. I Live in Charlotte so
the windy bits and the ocean is just far enough away to make it a planned weekend. You guys seem always warm and welcome and hopefully can help me on
my dream.
Thanks New(p)ick

Welcome to the forum! Have you bought a kite yet?
There is another newby member in NC, I just sold him my beamer, he is ncbowhunter. There are also a some experienced riders in the SC area:
Pokitetrash, Myaikencheeks, Tridude and Phreerider. I consider myself geographically challenged, so I'm not sure where they are in relation to
Charlotte,... but at least they are in neighboring states
Shoot any one of those guys a U2U; they are a great help. I am right outside Atlanta, and have met up with them before, they were a great help getting
me rolling, Pokitetrash especially
I'm going to take a nap now

I haven't owned or operated a kite before but i'll be sure to reach out to the fellow guys. And the OBX scene isn't too conducive to me being a full
time engineering student.

Mel is another SOFKA guy that lives in Florence. Pokitetrash (Chris) lives in Aiken SC and has an awesome polo field to ride and fly in. For Water
and buggy, you have tridude in Charleston, and Phreerider at Hilton Head Island that is fluid on the landboard and water. Angus Campbell is another
buggy guy, is further away in Jekyll Island GA and runs Coastal Wind Sports. A great deal was pointed out to me yesterday on the PKD Buster Soulfly,
and the 2 or 3m would be a good starter kite for you.

You're uber-lucky to be surrounded by some seriously talented guys out there. Not that we don't have talent over here (don't mean to offend
anyone)......you've just got a particularly good concentration ; )

Here in Aiken, PoKiteTrash is "The MAN". We do have an awesome polo field to fly in. The wind is gusty and sometimes it's a handful. Aiken, SC is 2
1/2 hours south of you and if your in the area give me a call. I can fly most any afternoon. Being self employed has it's advantages.. I can get you
started with a trainer and can move you up to a 5m after that "Po" is the sensei, master of the big wind and buggy guru. He can teach you buggy. Lord
knows he's tried with me. We have plenty of equipment to use if we have the wind. I'm not real good but I can help.
Have you been looking around the Queen City for any large smooth fields or parks that we could fly and buggy in? Keep your eyes peeled. I get to
Charlotte often and maybe we could meet up.
The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.

Welcome! I pass through Charlotte quite often and would love to share some airtime with you. I'll shoot you an U2U next time I pass through.

There are the front fields at UNC Charlotte but they are not open to anyone at this time. There are also the parking lots by Charlotte Motor speedway.
I'm assuming these fields are still a little small for our purposes. I really am delighted by the continued support and openness from you guys. I'll
keep eyes peeled and maybe a little google maps search
