FALL BUGGY THANG 2012

Just wanted to let everyone know that El Mirage is closed do to heavy rain fall last week. We are open to alternative location. I know that this is Corey's gig, but I would like to go bugging as well as others. Post location to goto.
Thank you
Josh

Ivanpah "looked" dry just yesterday afternoon and all standing water is gone as seen from I-15 but the newly installed gate is locked shut. A call to BLM might give insight whether it might be open later this week. Due to a family health issue, I won't be able to attend this year.

Seems like this has happened before, and plan "B" was Harpers. Could happen again, just avoid the puddle in the middle:tumble:. Some will be checking it out thursday morning and with some relaying of cells to people that have next gen phones, can post the condition.

HARPER DRY LAKE hyper link @ bottom for map

here is the harper directions
on highway 58 w of the 15 and E of the 14 freeways
turn north on harper lake rd.
turn right on power line rd (this is a dirt rd, thats between the 2 large transmission lines also known as Roy St.)
left on CORD20776 the rd is marked with 3 tires laid across the rd (hopefully they are still there)

when you get on the lake bed turn left and follow the shore line we should be in the second cove about a half a mile

Also Cuddleback and Lucerne would like to be named as possible retreats. If anyone has been to any of these recently, please share surface conditions. Will try to post thursday current condition of Harpers.

Whoo, had a good time. Not a whole lot of wind... Good thing I brought an airplane!

Thanks to all in attendance! I'm so glad we did it even though El Mirage was closed. Although I think I'd vote for Lucerne next time, it's soooooo much easier to get to.

Here's Harper lake from the sky: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJxf9K48FQk&feature=youtu...

(Sorry for the delay... It took 5 tries to get a successful upload to YouTube)
