This is a local event for me, and I actually have met the guy who got hit by the deer! (Small. Freaking. World!)
He's fine-ish, bumped and bruised. We assume the deer is fine as well, as it got up and ran away.
Tide? What's a tide? Man, it's 1000 miles to any ocean.

saw this on the news, or at least part of it. Couldnt watch it all, still a bit to familiar. Most animals will run off after something like this and
later die while hiding.
Think I would have tried to ride the animal for a bit to scrub off some speed.
