clip in bindings

I am thinking of doing some snowkiting this winter if we get alot of snow but I would rather have clip in bindings rather than the standard strap bindings. It makes it easier to get onto the board and keep the kite in the air.

I would get flow bindings but I dont have thatr kind of money.

Does anyone know where I can get bindings and size 12 boots.

I think the ones I got were from this place

Looks like they are pretty far out of style.
with the old yellow ones I have I would say they are easier but not amazing or anything. I still often have difficulty.

http://www.gnu.com/bindings/backdoor/ only $160. I have them and love them.

http://www.6pm.com/dc-scout-2012-grey-white?zfcTest=mat%3A0 DC Scout Boot with BOA lacing . Entry level boot with BOA lacing...I don't think I'll ever go back to normal laces.

Together with shipping, still to your door from those sites for under $300.

Go use REI as a showroom and try some on and find your boot size for DC, K2, Burton, and then go online and buy the boot you want for cheaper.

I would strongly discourage getting clip ins other than FLOWs. While you would easily find these bindings for very cheap, the performance is horrible. The bindings promote poor form because of lack of support. There are 4 board performances: Twist, Tilt, Pivot, and Pressure. The attachment point in clip in bindings allows your play in the system before getting a response out of the snowboard. Ankle flexion to initiate a turn will need to be double of that in modern strap in bindings or the FLOW step ins. In order for the FLOWs to be tight enough they will be difficult to put on.

Bottom Line is that these bindings give you worse performance. This will lead to getting tired faster, poor form, and increased risk of injury

Just my 2 cents, I used to rock clip ins before I because a snowboard instructor.

Uh, what are you saying? You say "don't get something other than flows" in your first sentence, and then go on to list all the reasons why you should NOT buy flows?

+1 on flow bindings!
Clip in like dyna-fit are great for AT/ ski area in and out systems... But with kiting they are hard to get in and out of fast....

I have and will stick with flow style bindings or just the simple strap system.... It is easier when your trying to deal with stomping around the board and kite lines whilst being on flat ground as well as stomping big kite loop landings.... You want strong too!

Enjoy!
