Impatience

The lame turtle that ups sent to deliver my kite is lost somewhere near hodgkins IL. PLease give him a push or a ride if you see him....his arthritis must be acting upas the tracking says the package has not moved in three days. Be kind to the turtle it could be your package next.

It is probably headed to Spokane. Packages from the east coast always seem to stall there. Then suddenly they are in Spokane and still not quite close enough. Wednesday should be a windy day. Hope it is there by then.

Mood: Is he using the same wind we are?

I know the feeling. I had a package leave Vegas last Tues. with the tracker saying it should deliver on Wed. Three days of great wind over the weekend without my new kite and then it arrives at work after I left on Monday. So I finally get the kite on Tuesday just in time for the wind to die for the week.

Kite is here....yippee..wind is not..booooo. Hope for a nice 8-12 mph on Tuesday . I laid it all out and got the lines hooked up ...glad I went with the 3 meter , it looks bigger than I thought it would, I cannot imagine what a big kite looks like. The Beamer looks great all the seams and sewing are top notch . All the lines are exactly equall...now I just need to get it in the air. I would like to meet up with Stetson05 this week for some advice after a first flight or two. You still hoping for Wednesday Stet?

Wednesday looks good til early afternoon. I just looked at pomeroy and it said 12-20. hopefully you will get the 8-12 tommorrow but I think you will find it will take more than that in a buggy. Let me know if you want to come by. I also have a 2m you can try if the conditions are too much. Even if there is no wind I can still show you lots of stuff about kites and I only need about 5mph to not get skunked.

I still need to make the buggy, but that is a little cart before the horse till I can get the flying bit down. Where would we meet on Wednesday?. Here in town the winds are flakey due to the hills. 2 miles out on top the wind is almost never under 15' must be why they put so many windmills up there. I hope to get etup in the morning and get some time flying , but I am willing to wait for the right wind for the first flight . Afteri know what to expect I can use some judgement about conditions.lookin forward to Wednesday.

I really don't know of anyplace between Pasco and Pomeroy that would be a good place to fly. There are lots of places here but I don't know if you can justify the trip as I have difficulty justifying a trip there. I can try and coax to you come here with the variety that my quiver provides  with fixed bridle, and depower kites, boards(land and water) and buggy you can have access to check out.

When can you be here and the where depends on what the day produces but probably Wade park in Pasco along the river. I figure it is about a 2 hour drive? let me know what time you think. It looks like the wind is going to drop around 1 o'clock but it might drop into the range you are looking for. It should be windy before that but we can just size down too. If you start with a 2m it will help you know if the 3m is good for those winds. Just let me know.

best winds look to be from 1000 to 1:00 tomorrow. I would recommend shooting for 10. Give me a call as you are heading in so I know when to expect you and can figure out the best place to ride.

Well I actually got to fly the Kate for about 2 minutes today...about 4 mph...just enough of a taste to see that this is going to be a kick. But those two minutes were all the wind that blew all day. #%+*^%#}{]! I did get all the lines hooked up so next time I will be set up quickly. I had a little trouble in that I was pulling some brake unintentionally ....really bad In almost know wind. I hope it blows more tomorrow. Now I am going out to the shop to start bending tubs for the buggy frame.:D
