Another large factor is the size of your play area, Race kites like the century's and RM's are great kites, but need room to run, well suited to high
speed cruising, but you would want to lean towards one of the heavier bugs as well,
Something like the Bullet or Buster are awesome in small parks, should be coupled with lighter bugs to get up to speed quickly.
Once again, large areas, good for pretty much anything, small area's are still good for freestyle and messing around in general. For freestyle you'd
want a liftier kite than you'd want for speed and cruising.
