Hello from Corpus Christi, Texas
Dallas native been in Corpus 22 years. Used to fly every weekend, then kids came ... lol. Been 10 years since I had a chance to play with my toys and
now I'm back into the groove and getting my 10 year old Son into kiting as well.
Any members from CC around here? Feel free to msg me and let's hit the beach and share toys.

Up by San Antonio. I try to make Corpus fairly regularly. I really want to find a good place to buggy there. Let me know if you come up with a good
spot.

Anywhere at the beach that's not crammed with bodies ...lol.
Generally a favorite spot of mine is just South of Bob Hall Pier. Start there and go South all the way to the National Seashore.
That's an 8 mile trip. In groups we would send someone to meet us, load the buggys up and drive back up the road (22 I think).
Just North of Packery channel there is a large washout area that's fun to mess around in.
Also, Port Aransas has nice wide beaches.
Most places are buggy friendly, just avoid the traffic and crowds. Local authorities will play the "not street legal" card and kick ya down or off the
beach.

I kite mustang island during the summer. There's not a good area anywhere near corpus for buggies. You're ok on the water but buggies are not liked
by the locals. Also, there is no room during the summer. Winter is ok as long as you don't run into the authorities.

Yeah I knew summer was out of the question. I was wanting a place around Corpus or Port A. where it was legal. I am not able to break the rules to
get a ride in.
It is funny b/c on Corpus Christi's web site the try to sell buggying and kiting on the beach to get people to come....but when you get there they say
it is illegal and kick you off or cite you.... guess i am stuck driving to e.beach for now.
I am going to try to make a trip in January....I will push out a post when I do and maybe we can all meet up. I want to do like a thurs. or friday so
we get the beech to ourselves.

When i was hitting the beach ( several years ago ) on a regular basis it was more of a wait and see type thing. I generally had no issues between Bob
Hall and the National seashore, provided there was not wall to wall cars.
I was always very polite to any law enforcement I came across and would generally ask if it was ok before I got goin ... provided they were around.
The usual answer was, "just don't get too crazy and don't create a hazard"..more or less.
I'm planning to test the waters again over the next few weekends ... I'll report back.

We buggy corpus in the Fall Oct/Nov & Spring April / May From National shore north to Bob Hall pier, Packery channel, Mustang & Port A. There
is a small dry Ponding area south of the ferry in Port A, Google Earth will help locate- wind direction will dictate. The past two years we have been
enjoying South Padre similar beach conditions narrow wet sand runs wind direction is the problem prevailing SE/ SSE The Flats at the Convention Center
Lagoona Madre side is a excellent option to the beach but is troubled by tidal flooding. If bugging is impossible, just get on the water, Both CC
& SPI are awesome Kitesurfing and Windsurfing destinations...Enjoy

Bringing this thread back from the dead. What's the situation like now? Will my landboard be kosher? Is the sand hard enough for board tires?
