What's frozen and safe?

Heard Chocorua had 4-5 inches of ice, anyway(Nasaskimbat).

Still waiting for big freeze down south in MA...

....Coming.....

Otherwise it's beach riding still down here 'til lakes freeze.. which is still great ...but want to get on my feet on blades or skis.

So where's the Kite cam video on this?!!

Just you wait Rudeboy, just you wait we might have a reason for you to come for a visit, maybe bring that sad sack Downs with ya.;-)

In the meantime I want to see some posts in the HWK Speed Ranking from you Minnesota lot. Get Levins back at it if you can track him down!

@skimtwashington we rode Choco again yesterday. Wind was punchier than usual with the Nor'easter. Only good spot on that lake in NE wind is NW corner. Ice is betwwwn 5 and nothing depending on where you are on the lake. The snow is weighing the ice down and the thin spots and holes are showing up wet.

There's a big hole coming out from the western swamp. North end inlet is pretty sketch too. The ice over the sandbar seems to have set up.

We avoided the holes and had first tracks all day yesterday. Not as much snow as forecasted, about 6" when we were out. Wind was a wicked.:o Actually felt and looked like winter.

Hey Feyd and Zeb,

Any word on where might be good for this weekend or new years, safe lakes or fields if they are available. Would love to get out and ride.

Thanks
Craig

Hey Craig,

Still waiting for reports from the gang over on your side of the border. One report I heard was Songo Pond up near Bethel is in play but no report since the snow. The field up in Bethel behind the gas station was tilled I heard but there may be enough snow there now the it isn't an issue.

When I hear I'll let you know.

Chris

Just got off the ice on Chocorua. Started riding around noon, rode until 9:00. 45minute supper break. First full moon session of the year and my god I love moonlight flying better than anything. It was so bright you could see the snow drifting 1/8th a mile out. Amazing.

The lake is in good shape. The ice is sunk a little and theres sluch for about 40' all around the edges. Some Ice fishermen drilled holes and those areas are flooded now.

More snow tomorrow and wind on Sunday. May hit Choco but I haven't been up north in a week so maybe north. Tomorrow I try to reassemble the snowblower.:wee:

nice.

cold air is promised this week by weatherman-coldest in two years. About time.

Wish you had Video or pics...

8 hours worth or tracking lines on snow:o...?
I don't think Keith richards has done that many lines in a day.

Definitely addictive behavior.

Pic from yesterday.

A bunch of people over near Bridgeton Me. were riding Muddy River near Sebago Lake yesterday and said it was awesome. Muddy is damn shallow so

I bet it's in good rideable shape.

Apparently I can't get the image into the thread?

If you want to see a shot from yesterday.....

Wind is supposed to be good tomorrow. May or may not hit Choco, thinking about riding up near Rangely.
