Ozone Razor or ???????

Can someone tell me what this kite's primary use is? Is it for buggying? What does the different shape do. Is it for experts. I need a 2.5m kite to take to the lake bed next month and cant decide on a Rage, Bullet, Razor or some other brand.

thanks,

Chad

You are asking for opinions, just be warned! For a "cheap as chips" kite in that size range may I suggest the radsil 2.4? I have one and it has seen me to over 42mph. Not the prettiest kite, or the lightest, but as for bang for the buck, they cant be beat! This was also an opinion (of course!)

I thank you for your opinion. Could you tell me what is so different about the Razor. It says racing kite???

How much wind on the 2.4 Radsail and how much do you weigh.

Ozone razor is one of the best kites for race now replaced by Yakuza,it is very technical and You may find that it is hard for a begginer. It have awesome pulling power, great lift and is fast in window. It was 4.5 that was a first prototype and it is best size of razors.I would recomend You Rage 2.5 or samurai in that size for lake as it won't colapse on You like other two witch are higher ratio in gusty lake winds.

I have a Razor 2.5 for sale. It's a fast kite and it is in perfect condition. It goes up wind better than anything I've flown and has plenty of speed and grunt, but it's hard to fly when it is gusty. You really have to be on top of things when the wind is up.

I'm selling it because I have a JoJo RM+3 which is more stable and suites me better. Send me an email if you are interested.

Razors are most definately a racing kite (buggying). They require a lot of finesse to fly right. The best words to describe them are: "aggressive" in a moderate wind. And "HOLY ****!!" in higher winds. They are one of the highest "aspect ratio" (the ratio between a kite's wingspan and it's depth) This is what accounts for it's aggressive but finniky nature.

If you're looking to go fast and don't have a lot of exp with race kites, you may want to consider the Century, Still quick, fast, and strong they're not as unstable and a little more user freindly. They're one of the more forgiving race kites out there.

If you have had some exp on race kites then the Razor may make a good choice for the lake beds.

If you want something a little more controllable for buggying in big winds, more for cruising at speed instead of flat out you may want to consider the Rage, Bullet, Sammy, Brooza.

We buggy mainly on the lake beds and the Razor's are some of the fastest kites on the market. The Razor has recently been replaced with the Ozone Yakuza which is actually even faster and more powerful than the Razor. If you are looking for all out speed on the dry lake beds then the Razor or Yakuza is an excellent choice. Both of these kites in the hands of a skilled pilot will outrun nearly anything on the playa. The Yakuza has proven to be a bit more stable than the Razor. Both of these kites are designed for the experienced pilot and are not really recomended for beginners. Their aspect ratio is very high and you sacrafice some stability for all out speed, power, and upwind.

We have been using the Ozone Riot's here quite a bit lately and that kite just rocks! It's a higher aspect ratio kite than most but not as high as the Yakuza's so you still get good stability as well as excellent power and speed. I highly recommend the Riot, it has been out most used Demo of any kite in our trailer. If you havent had the chance to fly one of the Riot's then you are missing out.

For Freestyling and buggying on the Playa the Riot is totally awesome. For all out high speed runs the Razor & Yakuza are the kites of choice.

Hope that helps.
