Mood: They're ALL good ideas. Right up until they become BAD ideas.

Trip planning

It's official! SOBB Spring 2013 is on the to-do list for the family. I hope to line work up in such a way that I can be away for an extended period of time because we'll either have JUST sold our house or will put ours up on the market as soon as we return so the getaway will be most welcome. (I sold my car right after SOBB and did quite well with it so maybe it's a good luck thing to do).

Anyway - I can get to the border crossing but need your help on finding a halfway point from the border to Seaside for us to stop. Even better would be two points of interest about 90-120 minutes apart? We'll be coming down through Abbotsford / Seattle / Tacoma / Olympia (I-5 to Hwy 30).

We'll also follow the coast south from Seaside either before or after SOBB so if you have any must-sees or places we should plan a day or two in let me know. Also, are we smarter to try to come pre-SOBB to miss a vacationer rush or would a coastal trod be OK in early June?

Lastly, we're considering a week-long, dog friendly VRBO rental (sadly I don't think KiteCamp will fly with mom and the baby ; ). If anyone - individual, a couple of you or a fellow family are keen to consider lodging together we can share the cost and enjoy some visiting time together over home cooked meals. We'll even throw in the potential for a crying baby at 3AM! (She's a pretty good sleeper to be honest but you just never know. Gotta make sure the experience matches the post card.) Holly is a well mannered Border Collie that generally keeps to her own almost all the time.

The Ken's Of America will probably stay KOA .

GREAT place for Family with swimming pools kids parke etc. Right by the Fort, Battery and ship wreck.

Our last cabin had a bathroom , kitchen seperate bedroom. It would be perfect. Much MUCH better than a hotel room!

The State park is also nice with Yurts and cabins but they fill up fast and there is less to offer young kids for fun.
