Skijoring???

Has anyone heard of this before?? I was looking for a harness for my chocolate lab to pull my daughter on a sled and found this. Not sure if I would get my 60lb dog to try and pull my 200lb butt on skis. Maybe if I was 50lbs lighter, but looks like it would be fun with two dogs. Anyway just curious if anyone here does it or knows anything about it. The harnesses look great for pulling the kids around, and possibly me on my atb on flat ground in the summer. It also looks as if a seated kiting harness would make for a luxury skijoring harness. Learned something new today.

People do a fair amount of it here. Once you get a feel for it and the dog gets trianed to it, it's a hell of a lot of fun.

Just takes some time and practice. And a dog NOT prone to stopping to sniff stuff or sprinting after things off trail.:bouncy:

:) Yah, I got the setup for my 45 lb dog mostly for his excercise needs. I got the waist harness, bungee leash, and dog harness. I first hooked myself up in the summer on rollerblades and was moving at a good clip until he decided to take a sharp left and go after a squirrel:shocked2:. Luckily I didn't totally eat it but after that I put away the waist harness and bungee leash and used a regular leash in case I needed to let him go. I love the equipment that I bought from Howling Dog Alaska, http:www.howlingdogalaska.com .
