Well after not having a kite in the air for almost 3 months and not in a buggy since last May, I finally got in my first session of the new year.
After much apprehension ( I was rusty) I finally got to try out the new buggy mods
After the 2012 uprading to the "now known as" ApexFlex buggy I can truly say its better. The wind was blowin' 20 kts gusting to 25 with my trusty 5m
Apex II in the air and the buggy improvements such as the convertable/sliding axle, giving me an axle length of 95 - 135 cm, and the addition of the
Peter Lynn XR+ seat (Thanks again Dino) successfully lowering my center of gravity the thing goes upwind like crazy without a hint of sliding sideways
or wanting to flip.
Abolutly no rattle in the telescoping axle as soon as you put weight on it (my fat a**), its solid (the axle that is) and no pushing the front end
through corners either, which I was a little concerned with, but the new seat lets me sit a bit farther forward and off the rear axle loading the
front end a little bit more.
All this with Nanco BF lights running @ 8 lbs with the other 2011 mods of the PL BF front end and kinked, extended downtube.
I'm sure glad I'm over the first session jitters and can get to see what kind of power I can lay down with the new rig. My main kite is typically the
7.5m Apex II, I also will try it out on the 10m of the same.
Unfortunatly there will be no 16 mile runs this year as the've cut the mouths on both the Paharo and Salinas rivers to prevent flooding, I guess I can
try to wade across one or the other, we'll see as the season progresses.
Heres a link to the original thread w/ pics of the recent buggy mods, Thanks
