obsessed with my buggy
OK...It seems like I've been posting quite a bit on here lately...I think I am going to go down to our local weld/body shop and offer up my services
1- 2 days a week for free in exchange to learn how to weld....With that said, I find that I'm constantly tinkering with my buggy to fabricate things I
see...often on the more expensive models...
Things I'd like to build..
A front fender so I can stop eating cow/sheep poop mud...
Some new foot pegs that have a nice flat spot for my foot. (possibly with straps that hang).
A GPS holder...much like PTW one
A new belly pan ( the old one I just made wont fit contour of the new seat Van just made me) which by the way...ROCKS!
Some side panels like the Ivanpah's have, so I can custom paint and letter my NAPKA numbers for this years WBB.
Maybe a nice bag for the back to hold couple kites and last but not least...
A small back rest to push against when I'm powered up...Then when I'm all done with this.. I can hand it down to my kids and buy another one that is
set up for Bigfoots and barrows this way I can ride non-stop at WBB not caring at all about the tides...
Maybe the Blackwidow? or maybe BuggyDanny's if he leaves it to me in his will...haha..just kiddin..I'd take your bug, but I still want you around
Dan..Can't wait to see you and your new helmet this year.
So does anyone have some cool pictures of items they have fabricated for their buggies or ideas to share...Just though it would nice to showcase
others work and see what ideas were out there.

of your list for Santa, seems only one thing to justify your non welding skills at a the local shop for, maybe 2. The other stuff is rather simple and
non metallic.
The stuff I use for the front fender can also be used for the belly pan. Simple cutting of the material with a knife and you got the stuff made. I
will have to dig up the name of the stuff and the cost but at 25 bucks for a 4x8 sheet, you can double up the material and play with different ideas.
and it also is paintable, just have to repaint the scratch/scrape marks away.
I sent the info for this stuff to Angus@coastalwindsports, he may still have it laying around.

Big Kid... I see your post about shipping stuff to JIBE and WBB....looking forward to meeting you...That's a long drive, but having gone across
country 3 times now it's a beautiful thing.... most people that live here take for granted all the cool stuff to see that the US has to offer.

Wont see much on the way there, but the wife and I will take 2 weeks to get home from JIBE. Thinking about seeing the gulf coast and then what ever

fenders are cheap to cut out of the side of a 5 gallon bucket. Make a paper template and then tape it to the bucket to cut out. You can even find
some different colors and many are free.

I recently was thinking about a front fender too and posted about it here too. What I found from that post was a lot of the same answers above....
I also found what some folks do is go to trailer supply places (tractor supply co., northern tool and equipment) where you can buy a metal fender for
a trailer which you can cut up alter and weld to your heart's content to create your own customized metal fender.
I went to Northern Tool and equipment and spent $17 on a fender (which has been sitting in the back of my kitemobile). It's a little wide, but I'll
cut some of the center out and weld it back together and weld on some mounts then it's done.

I bought a fender from Maier plastics for Honda 3 wheeled dirt bike.
It was a little expensive but looks good and works very well.
