a Low Wind Kite ....
Hello
Been having a couple of bad days lately.. Not enough wind..
I have a 3m Samarai and a Blade IV 4.9m.. Barely was able to keep the Blade up..
Looking for something fixed bridal, and thinking more Ozone or Flexi's.. and when the winds down in the 5-8 mph range.
I mostly static fly,but I'll take my landboard out on minus tides..
I dont know anything about the Sami 2's, Rage, or Riots, buts thats where Ive been stuck at..
Thank YOU guys for any of YOUR inputs
Thx

I've got a hq crossfire 6.3m (which is similar to the blade as it has lift..but a more gradual in comparison to the blade) that I've flown in 4mph
winds and have even gotten lifted a bit. I've got my ozone 4.5 Lil Devil still that I kept for higher winds days when it's 12+mph (I wouldn't think
about flying the crossfire in that yet). The basic idea is to go with a larger kite for lighter winds, smaller kite for higher winds. So, I don't
think you need a different kite style persay, but a larger kite all together. Even if you got a larger blade IV or larger Samarai you should be able
to pull off flying in the lower wind range.
I don't own a depowerable foil, so I'm not sure as to how those would react..but would think that when you're looking in the 4mph wind range you
almost have to fly a fixed bridal foil. I would think the pulley's of a depowerable would cause too much weight on a depowerable in those low of
winds.
Since you already know how both the Sami and the Blade IV handle, why not just get another one of either of those..just larger and you should be ready
to get back out there? Unless you'd prefer a different style of kite altogether?
Try the HQ Crossfire..haha.
Hope this helps,
Joe

For low winds avoid any sort of depower, you want open cell fixed power foils. I use the 9m Buster and get along fine, kite will fly in 4mph, by
6-7mph I'm cruising nicely in the bug.
Best part is they go for $515 US for a new kite RTF.
Sysmic S1 Buggy.
0.7m / 1.4m / 2.0m PKD Buster I
4.4m PKD Buster
10m JoJo RM+
6m Flysurfer Outlaw
12m Ozone Access
