WBB or JIBE

If you could only make one of these events, which would you choose?

I am favoring WBB and JIBE because there are other local activities for my wife, and two young daughters to enjoy while I play on the sand ALL DAY, EVERY DAY  All my vacation was submitted the first week in January as it is every year. So no long road trips for me this year.

So, Spring WWB, Fall WWB, or JIBE for 2014?

Really want to do one of these.

Thanks guys!

I'm partial to WBB, go figure. I did really enjoy myself at JIBE as well. For me it's just too humid down there in May. The October WBB is usually the packed event. The winds usually are pretty relentless, winds can come from any direction, and when they do, it's usually kicking! The Spring Bash usually shows on shore winds, not generally as strong but still decent. Both events have their own reasons for being great events.

I am biased as JIBE is the only event I am able to make annually. I've gone by myself, and I've brought the entire family. It is a family friendly event for sure. My family had no shortage of things to do while I was on the beach. I'd like to check out WBB one day as well but my vote is for JIBE 2014.

I am going to say JIBE as well. WBB is an awesome event, spring and fall. But as Scott said it is warm and a lot to do. Sandy spent the whole week riding her bike searching the island for hidden treasures. OH and the buggying is great.

Is JIBE typically the same dates each year +or - a few days?
I see some of the hotels down there are filling up already for next year at this time. Geese! :o

Not trying to book now or anything, just trying to get an idea of a basic rough trip expense.

Thanks Gents!

@3shot- Angus will have the dates out soon, usually will tie into mothers day weekend but just depends on the tides as for expenses you can rent a small house/duplex on island for 500+ a week. I think this yr our total cost with gas, lodging and food for a family of 4 (two growing boys eat a lot) was around $1600 for the whole week.

Scott that is what we are thinking of doing next year. And I hope TheKidd can come with us.
Mark while it is true I ate more than my share of Aunt B's cookies, I also went to see what all the fuss was about with this legendary place. And all the fuss is underfussed about. This island is a excellent place to vacation for the whole family. We can't wait to go back.

JIBB ,if you take it all in , is magical. Driftwood beach, gianormus rope swing hidden in the old dunes, dolphins within wading distance from shore, bucolic southern history , the turtle culture, the shipwreck ,even the little bastard plovers add to the allure.
