New Personal best - on atb 30.8MPH
This yr at jibe I strapped a camelback on and put my iphone in the pocket running Motion X GPS, So now i have a verified new personal best speed on a
mountain board. Winds on friday were 12-15 mph and i was flying my venom II 19m. Sand was as smooth as glare ice and i was having fun racing down
the beach with my son Andrew who was able to keep up with me the whole time.

The fastest I can go on my board is about 20 MPH before even the slightest bump will cause me to wobble and crash. I don't know how people like you
get away with that much speed.

@sier- it is all about holding a hard edge or three points of resistance i think- 1. the board/wheels 2. the pull of the kite and 3. your butt as the
balance point. I am pretty sure i went faster last year there but did not have a way to check it. At least last year it felt a lot faster.:o

A longer board is more stable and will go faster without wobbling. Also you can tighten your trucks up for speed runs which will make the board a LOT
more stable (but harder to steer)
Lean right back once you have enough speed to hold your line to get your weight on the kite and off the board. then you can cope with bumps.
If you are trying for PB's on a GPS you can hold a very slightly upwind line to get everything powered up and then flatten out your stance and let it
downwind a bit for even more acceleration (its sometimes hard to get control again without heading totally downwind to depower the kite though)
I still haven't managed 30mph though!!! but the above tips helped me go 20+ with confidence

@martini- no the bruise was not from a high speed crash- rather i bailed jump and incorrect landing:D
@lives2fly- While your tips may help to go faster- i was riding my short trampa with fairly loose trucks and never had any speed wobble- the trick for
me has been to make sure that i always have tension on the kite so that the wheels are always "on edge". FYI my son was hanging with me and he rides
skate trucks that are so loose that the board will "bottom out" when he leans really hard. I originally started kiting with really tight trucks and
had all kinds of problems once i loosened them and could carve/turn was much easier to get going

NICE JOB FLYGUY!!
AWESOME!!
Uh oh....now I'm gonna have to prove my speeds...I can average 26-28mph and still be comfortable on the Flexboardz...but with my new Garmin and Google
Earth overlay + GoPro w. Onboard speedo it could get interesting....
How about a friendly EAST coast vs. WEST coast speed challenge??

@Herb- lets do it, I think you have a speed advantage with the flexboardz but i am game as well maybe a few of the other boarders will join suit and
see what we can do. Also i like your mount for the camera- any footage from that mount yet? would love to see it

Wow...congratulations..that is fast!
I think that's my PB on my buggy..haha!
I'll have to wear a GPS next time I'm on the board, but I think I'd be embarrased to post it...I'd be happy if I did 15mph...but probably only did
12mph...
