OK, the story so far.

I bought a 3.5 bullet last week. Since then there has been no wind and I mean flat calm. It is my first real kite and I am going mad to use it:ticking:, but working full time and 2 small kids limits my play time to some evenings and every now and then at a weekend.

I have negociated with the wife to get this saturday free and I need to find somewhere with a breeze to get this kite off the ground.

I live in Yorkshire which is pretty central so can anyone recommend do I go East coast or West to find a decent open beach to fly on.?

they buggy on the nolfolk coast alot but any beach that is quite (thats most now) ya can fly kites on any beach, bugging is a diffent stroy there are rule and regs

I managed to get my first air time today. Highest point near by was a fallow farmers field t the top of the hill I live on.

Only a slight breeze and wasn't having much luck launching at first untill I tried launching a directly down wind instead of at the edge of the window.

Much better, the kite sat up on it's brakes untill I got back to my staked out handles and given the low wind conditions really pulled form the word go.

I am 6'3'' and 16st and the kite instantly pulled me up the field, which I was not quite prepared for at that moment given how lifeless it had been earlier.

Well impressed, bags of pull in next to no wind. Can;t wait to get some proper wind to really see what it can do.

It was a good start though, got some good practise in the conditions turning and reverse landing. I was especially proud of the reverse take off for my first time.
