new to landkiting
Hello everyone, I just started getting the hang of kiteboarding and being able to stand on my board for more then a few seconds but I have only been
in the water 3 times. I have an ATB lying around for a little while now and want to start using it. My question is can I use my LEI kites on a ATB? I
have a 7M 9M 11M 12M 14M and 17M. I notices that most of you guys that buggy use smaller FB foils but I also know FB has more pull then LEI. Can you
please explain this to me? Thanks in advance.

LEI's are depower kites so they produce less power, but have a wider wind-range.
I ATB with my LEI's all the time. It's a little tougher on the leading edge, but unless you crash the kite into a tree it's not terrible.
Start with your smallest one and slowly move up! Helmet all the time!
Tide? What's a tide? Man, it's 1000 miles to any ocean.

I use my inflato's all the time...go with one size smaller on land than water for same wind conditions. Don't forget pads and helmet...and rock on!!!

Use at least one size smaller than you would be using on the water.
You don't need nearly as much power to ride a land board and you can handle far less when you are inexperienced. + it hurts a lot more when you mess
up!

Newer to the sport I personal started with a 3m. Yes undred powered but safer and pulled great at 14 mph. Switching to lager foil was a whole new
game. More power will require your to lean more back or your wil get pulled right over. Always start with rife small kite for the conditions and
make sure your are good with controlling the kite. It will make learning a lot easier. Just remover your saft equipment as learning is falling.

With such a large quiver I am guessing you have bought a set of older C kites ? What kites do you have?
C kites are much , much less forgiving and lifty. Not the ideal kites for land but ....
Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.

Hey! (warning wandering slightly off topic ahead)
I love my circa 2005/2006 North Rhino's (C-Kites) for landboarding...LOL...
Seriously, I DO like them for landboarding...even better than on water....but yes, they are what I like to say "an acquired taste".
They have a longer depower stroke, but it's much smoother than the SLE inflato's....less of an ON/OFF situation....
But when they are in the groove....you just GO...and yes...nice float when you jump.
Oh...and I'm ALWAYS on 5th line setup.
However, lately I have gravitated towards ARC/Closed Cell Foil, I'll admit....
Back on topic, I flew Fixed bridle for my first year on landboard....so, use what you have....put on your pads and helmet and go have fun!

Bladerunner: No none of those are c kites. most of those are BEST kites that I bought on E-bay. They are in great shape and are holding up amazing on
the water and the many times i flew them static. The 12M is my new addition from a week ago It's a 2013 liquid force NRG. I will soon be selling all
the older gear to upgrade my quiver.

Many of the great landboarders--Lewis Wilby (and the other pushkiting guys) and Alex Brown to name a few, all use inflatos.... They've also been
flying for years and don't crash the kite as much. From my experience: more lifty, less forgiveness. Be careful, wear a helmet, and have a blast!

Hi there, yes you can but if the LEI going down possible you will do a FLAT tire! Hahaha. I fly a lot in land board with foils, Flysurfers and Ozones,
very easy and very powerful and you only need one person to Re-launch and landing.....
I fly in grass and if the kite going down it’s like paper...no solid structure like inflates and I like that
LEI are pretty good to but you need 2 persons to Re-launch and 2 for landing.... I like LEI a lot but I try to avoid it in land
Don’t forget Helmet and pads for knees ...even the Experts always crash like Carb - Lewis Wilby

Although it is easier to land and launch LEIs with a buddy, it can be done alone and everyone who flies them should know
how to do it. If you are careful and don't have a tendency to crash kites into the ground (easy cause of a broken bladder) you should be fine

If you have something solid to to clip your chicken loop into with a carabiner then solo launching and landing an LEI is easier than any other kite!
A sling on your tow-bar, a post, a snow stake, an ice screw, a piece of wood buried in the sand or snow, a big rock, a sand bag, or a couple of those
cork screw shaped stakes for tethering your dog to in campsites! anything solid or heavy enough to stop the kite flying away!

Thanks for all this info. I self launch my LEI all the time,it easy and dont have to wait for anyone or for that matter bother them. I dont seem to
hit the water with my kites so i dont think i will have a problem on land but id i fly off my twin tip and i have to watch the kite to control it and
not crash then i get dragged in the water. If that happends on land i might protect myself before the kite .i am going to trying it maybe this weekend
,just wish i had more time for this sport. Im really in love with it but cant seem to find time to get better and learn due to moving a month go and
getting engaged.ugh these woman are driving us men up the wall haha. But we love em
