Cool Weather vane..

Saw this on ebay. Not something I'd have personally, but thought it was cool nonetheless!

It must be something to do with the actual function of the thing I guess..
I also don't like the shape of the kite.. But the idea is cool I think.

Because the arrow on a weather vane points in the direction the wind is coming from, so the kite would have to be down wind from the arrow.

That is an interesting point, I always define the wind as "coming out of the north" and therefor the flow vector is pointing south rather than a flow vector pointing at we're the wind is coming from.
Nevertheless a great looking vane.

Just going by observation. I live in farm country, many barns have the old style Rooster weather vane, and all have the arrow pointing in the direction the wind is coming from. Easier for the farmer to look at his vane and say, "Wind is out of the north, better batten down the barn."

It kind of looks like a cloud rather than a kite. I agree WHERE's Donnie? This could get him to WBB this fall. I'll order one from him!!
