NOVA/DC longboard ride working up to 17 miles

I rode abouit a mile or two of the mountvernon trail the other day and that night I decided I was going to ride the entire trail. I have gone out twice and am up to 3-4 miles and I plan on working up to more. Does anyone want to join me sometime? the section of the trail I am working on right now is a lot of fun, hills in both directions and winding paths. It would be alot easier to practice if I had someone to ride with because we could do it like a downwinder. one person parks at the stopping point and gets picked up by the other person and park at the starting point.

Not necessarily related, but I've been wanting to try a longboard with an NPW. I saw a YouTube vid linked up on KC with guys riding longboards with depowers on a runway in Germany and it looked like a good time... I don't have any useable runways close by, but plenty of parking lots, so it seems like an NPW would work best.

Have you or has anybody else ever tried that?

Here's the vid link:

NPWs, asphalt and a board? Yes.....

Must be a German thing. ;)

Some seem to prefer flying on bridles and control bar leaders for the level of immediacy it confers.

More videos on his his Youtube channel.

Sam

Shortline,... Dude, I'm sorry I totally hijacked your thread, but have you considered trying this?

Thanks Sam. Think I'll start a thread in the kites, lines etc etc etc forum on this topic cuz I have more questions.

Ok returning to your regular thread,... Anybody interested in long boarding with Shortlineflyer?

No worries, I would do that is the trail was clear of trees but it is right on the Potomac and it is heavily wooded almost the entire time. might be able to go it along the mall in dc with an npw on bridle lines and a landboard but I dont know.
