Newbie not a spammer

Hi every one ! .
I guess need to introduce myself & say hi to everyone , or else been threatened as a spammer

I had joined PKF by April 2013 , but never make any posting .also join Kite crowd & Extreme kite ( Australia ) later on .
but it seem the PKF is the most regular site which I read for the quest of kiting information .

I am assuming , I am the the only member from Malaysia , as I could not find other member which reveal they are from Malaysia .
Anyway , earlier this year I had found & addicted to this interesting & demanding sport .
in which later on , I found it quite costly sport .but I can't retreat now ! .LOL

By now , I already had a 1.8m 2line kite , 4.5m FB kite & 1 mountain board .
& I just completed built a NPW9 11.72 meter , had static fly it twice .

Sad to say , my progress is slow , static flying is no issue , but I seldom get enough pull from my 4.5m FB kite to learn riding the atb
due to wind forecast is low ( 0-5 km/h ) at my area .
I think I want to use my NPW to learn riding the atb & same time looking for a bigger kite .

any advice ? .

Welcome aboard! Hope you can find some wind somewhere! Kind of the same deal here on the East Coast right now, NO WIND! I have not flown since April. When ever the wind is up, so are the storm clouds and the rain is along for the ride.

I know there was another member here a while back that was in Malaysia, I sold him a kite and had no issues. I am also friends with some other kite fanatics in Malaysia on facebook. There are kiters all over the world, as there are spammers! Glad you are a kiter!:)

Oh hi smiler. Sorry I didn't respond to your pm right away. In did end up looking at shipping to Malaysia and it was ridiculous (like $450). Sorry man. I'd gladly sell you one of my kites if you could ever figure out shipping.

The 18m Guerilla is a great cheap low wind machine, but with winds that low, you'd have to build a fan to fill it up (I built one out of a computer fan and a 9volt battery). I'll keep my ears open for a shipping opportunity. Ya never know :)

oh man, kiting in 5kmh must be difficult! I would go for a lightweight fixed bridle rather than a big heavy closed cell.

Ozone Yakuza, Peter Lynn Reactor or Vapour. Something 10-12m

I have had good sessions in 5-6 knots with my 8.0m HQ Toxic but thats around 9kmh so i think you need something bigger. You can launch an open cell in no wind at all by running backwards and you can keep them flying by keeping them moving.

Good luck with it.

Your big NPW should pull you in that wind, but due to their tendency to sit back in the window, might pull you off the board. I'm pretty sure you could ride a buggy in that wind though. I say pad up and go for it! lean way back!

Thank you very much for the welcome note .
It were holiday this several day which I was away without the reliable internet connection .

I did meet up & also on face book several quite experience local kiter ( mostly buggying ) .
But this several month of the year they are not active
due to very low wind .
they did inform it is about jan to april , wind forecast is about 5-15km/h that suit kiting activity .
well I had miss those month when I started but can't wait next year to make progress .

I would not recommend a race kite the yakuza and vapors are both race kites they tend to fly a lot faster and also require more advanced flying skills than the reactor. Also with you learning on a board I would suggest a twin skin kite. I recommend the phantom as it is one of the few twinskins I have flown. A good depower would also be a good kite. A ozone access would also be ok in slight higher winds. Hope this helps in your endeavors and welcome to pkf from the states.
