I would go for a used 8.5m Flexifoil Blade III. Lots of lift = fun on your board:tumble:

Foil Kites: Flysurfer 12m Sonic 4, 10m Soul V2, Peak 5s and 5.5m Hybrid
LEIs: 9m Naish Pivot, 12m Naish Phoenix
Land: 16" Dirtsurfer GP
H20: 134 Shinn Monk Chromatic, Slingshot 103cm Hope Craft w/ Axis Spitfire 840

Thats one helluva jump, from 5.5m bullet (not exactly the most powerful 5.5m out there) to some thing 9 to 12 meters.

Regardless, there are several really BIG lighter wind kites out there that are quite good (none of them however, are what you'd call cheap)

Jojo RM's are incredible in any size (all the way up 18m!!)...Spendy but incredible

PKD Century's are also are also amazing.

On the depowerable side, Ozone Frenzy's (up to 12m) are fun as hell!!

Back to fixed bridle, the Ozone Riot (up to 11m) are real solid performers.

For the masacist, there's also the Ozone Yakusa (up to 14m) Enough kite to make your butt pucker in a 8mph wind!!

The larger Flexifoil Blades.....Amazing kites!!! Lotsa fun! But watch that lift!

The Peter Lynn ARC series of kites, hella fun!! And super stable to boot! They'll stay parked at their apex ALL BY THEMSELVES!!

Honestly, I could probably think of about a dozen more if I had the time!! There's so much good stuff out there nowadays!

Just as with buying a regular sized kite, try to be specific about what you're looking for in larger kite. Pick what's MOST important to you. That should help you find the most approriate kite. Ability to fly in REALLY low wind? Max speed? Low wind stability? Large wind range? Ease flying? Simplicity of use? Certain types are particularly good at each of these.

Hope that at least gives you something to think about.

\"There are no stupid questions... There are however, a lot of inquizitive idiots.\"

Quad-Trac Profoil 3m
Eolo Radsail Pro 2.7m, 3m, 6m (x2)
Ozone Razor 5.5m 4.5m and my new 8.5m (The thing scares the crap out of me...but in a good way!)
Advance Io 7.5m
Jojo Rage 12m
Jojo RS 6m (T. Raw\'s old mystery Jojo - still crazy powerful)

Earthboard Rage mountainboard w/8\" tires
MBS Comp 32 board
Flexifoil sport buggies (x3) Highly modified
Peter Lynn Comp w/Bigfoots
Rockville offroad skates w/8\" tires
Homebuilt sandboard

Lots of Ritalin

One other option is to track down a 9m Buster I, great kite, can be tuned down with some bridal adjustments to limit the lift to start with, then tuned up if you want more lift later. I've got mine on 30m lines for the most part and get tonnes of use out of it. If you're looking to jump from a 5.5m to a 9m, it's one good option. If you're looking Blade, I'd think a 6.5m would be a little more reasonable due to the crazy lift factor.

Sysmic S1 Buggy.

0.7m / 1.4m / 2.0m PKD Buster I
4.4m PKD Buster
10m JoJo RM+

6m Flysurfer Outlaw
12m Ozone Access
