Truly a unique sound only a B-17 makes. Not a repro. This one was a combat vet. Heard it was in town on the local radio. Crappy phone pic, but it's all I had as I pulled over on the side of the road

Love it this the b-29 and the b-52 are truly amazing machines. I work on the 52 so if you see one fly over your house run away and take cover I know how they are fixed. :P

Not many of these B-17's left. I think less than a dozen. Every now and then one comes to town and you can crawl inside. I hope to be there next time it does.

They do have a unique sound. A couple of years ago I was at the river and hear a plane. I looked and thought, wow, that really sounds like a B-17. As it got closer it was pretty low and sure enough it was a B-17. I was watching it leave town, and thats how I knew it would be at least another year. Great Pic.
