Spring NABX now Buggy Blast?

Can anyone fill me in on why the NABX event changed to a new gathering called Buggy Blast? Is NABX having events?

I don't know for sure, but I think it had something to do with the organizer of this years event neglecting to apply for a permit until it was too late. I suppose that might have been OK if he had not decided not to tell anyone until after he collected money from people and did not refund when there was a very limited event.

Hey Burt,
Randy and me will be down your way in a few weeks.
You are welcome to try my bug out which is similar to the Ivanpah bugs which are knock offs of the PTW bugs.
Hopefully I will be working on a new stainless bug this winter and sell off my aluminum or maybe the stainless.
I should hit SPI last week of Oct.
See you then,
Bob

Who told you that the Ivanpah is a " knock off " . THAT IS UNTRUE !
Ask Poppeye and Kent what they did before spreading crap like that !
I would be plenty upset with a statement like that if I put my heart into a buggy .

How can the Ivanpah be a knock off of a PTW bug when PTW helped with parts of its design and has given it his blessing?
That's my understanding of that, at least. I could be wrong.

I don't know anything about nabx

They look alike because Popeye was consulted in some of the design parameters, and some geometry is similar. Every one that is sold has a label on the axle that says " Inspired by Popeye the Welder". So they actually look alike on purpose.

After the non event last year new organizers created Ivanpah Bluggy Blast (IBB) to insure there would be an event for us to attend. They have already obtained the permits and the event is a go. The NABX organizers announced on facebook that they cancelled NABX 2014.
So there will be an event same time and same place but it under new management. Cost is only $50 for riders and all family members / non riders are free. The organizers are not making any profit on the event. All the money received will be fed back into the event. This event is put on by kiters for kiters. All are welcome and will be welcomed!
