Flysurfer viron vs. ikon micro???(newbie)
Just want to start off saying I'm new to traction kites and I have a couple of hq rush pro 300 and I'm confident enough flying it and want to get a 4
line depower kite. I am currently looking at the flysurfer viron 4m and the ikon micro 4m. From what I have read the viron is hard to get in trouble
but only really good for training, not a kite that can be kept for a high wind kite when I progress. And the ikon since it's a new brand I haven't
found to much info but from what I have found it is a very solid kite. So I'm just wanting some opinions on these two kites. (I'm looking at these
kites do to the fact they are both within my price range and from the reviews are very hard to blow out veins on hard crashes)
Thanks in advance for the help!

Maybe put some thought into some 5-6m. You are not going to get significantly more power out of a 4m depower than your current FB. Find one used and
you'll most likely spend even less money. You will most likely get way more use out of a 5-6m. Just start out in modest winds.
Also, not totally certain, but I think IKON is discontinuing their "snowkite" line with the unveiling of the new "landkite" line, the Empire series
that hits the market on Friday. Though the smallest of the Empires is a 6m.
Edit: I suppose I could answer your question though. The Micro. Unless you need
water relaunch. Prices aside, i believe the Micro would give a higher level of performance (from my research, no hands on)after the training phase.

The depower kite, even a meter bigger, isn't going to supply the raw power of a fixed bridle 3m. I kinda agree with MeatDriver, something in the 5m+
range might serve you better as a good step up while still being a staple for high wind days.

I back what the other 2 are saying. The 4m Viron isn't a great engine. I don't know for the 4m Icon but doubt it will produce usable power until the
wind is too strong to learn in comfortably ? You would probably not want to hold on to either of these kites ? I suggest you look for a 5 or 6m if
you want a small kite that will serve as a high wind engine in your quiver as you grow.
If money is an issue then second hand is the way to go. Kites lose a lot of value as soon as they leave the shop. Recent model kites can be purchased
at 1/2 or more off original retail. Most name brand foil kites are designed to handle hard crashes.
Here is a 5m that would do the job . http://www.powerkiteforum.com/viewthread.php?tid=27163
Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.
Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

Thanks everyone for y'all's input. I'm gonna look into a 5m then I'm in the military and currently stationed in Honduras and the area I have to use
the kite in currently is the size of two soccer fields so I was thinking a smaller kite would be better for the location I am in now. Again thanks for
the help and if you have a suggestions they would be greatly welcomed.
