Lake Superior

Hello:

Last year I took part in the 5 lake challenge. I was wondering if people are going to stay on the lake bed overnight at Superior as they did last year?

Yes, we are going to spend the night. It was one of our best lakes last year. Wish we could spend more time there.

Night Skies

When you were there last year did anyone break out any telescopes? I plan to bring a binocular telescope down with me to check the dark skies.

On a lighter note how cold did it get and where can you take a dump :puzzled:. I figure my options are plastic bag ; dig a hole with a shovel ; or use some sort of porta potti for camping (if one exists) :?:. All kidding aside I could see this being a real problem.:(

Superior evacuation

Evacuation on Lake Superior is easy... walk 30 yards, dig hole, squat, evacuate, fill in hole. Guaranteed to be a 'superior' experience. <evil grin>

What approximate time will folks be arriving at Superior and leaving Superior for Silurian?

Kelci and I will be leaving Westport, WA on Saturday morning and aren't sure just when we'll get into Barstow on Sunday. If it's too late, we may just head for Silurian.

Last year we stayed Sunday night, and Monday night. Then we headed to the other lakes. If all works out. We should be doing the same this year. If you need a cell phone contact. Mine is 661-816-6891 If you call we could tell you where we are. Hope this helps.

Thanks Dave! We might just give you a call as we're coming thru Kramer Junction.

See you on the lake!
