kite issues not flying right gin zig

after asking some advise on here i bought my self a 4 meter gin zig kite which has a depower kit as an introduction kite for my next learning level of using a harness and being hooked up,first time i flew it things was sweet very low winds and i brave enough to hook myself in to a harness for the first time and only flew it for 10 minutes ,yesterday i took it out again in slightly stronger winds as i was feeling positive and thought i would just fly it again for a short time ,it was doing lots wrong and don't believe it is set up right,it would fly at least 3 meters behind me up past the zenith and just collapse out of the sky ,also flying up in front of me it was doing the same and also at the side of the window,it would collapse and spin inside out in a tangled mess ,one or twice i was able to walk backwards to stop it doing this ,towards the end it ended up spinning like a propeller and i thought stuff this and put it away and come here and ask you boys ,on the brake lines on the kite the lines are on the lowest knot and on the bar the strap you can lengthen seems to be half way ,i noticed that when you have the bar up it seems not very powerful and when pull the bar down it seems nothing is happening like if it was fully sheeted out ,i enclose a picture i got of the net of the set up of the bar ect

It sounds like you are saying the kite is overflying the window?

It sounds like you have the trim strap pulled all the way in. This helped with low wind but I suspect you needed to open it up a bit in the stronger wind.

If opening the strap isn't enough try moving the back lines up on the leader a bit to shorten them. You want to be able to stall the kite on the back lines with the bar pulled in and have them loose with the bar pushed out. Too short and the kite won't fly to zenith well.

If you get the kite set up to react that way and the kite still wants to overfly you can prevent it by pulling in the bar before the kite reaches the edge or turning the kite a bit before the edge. In both cases slowing the forward speed of the kite as it gets to the edge.

Getting the hang of when to push the bar out or pull it in is tricky. I push the bar out to the middle or more to let the kite fly on front lines. I pull the bar in to give added brake input as I turn the kite. Pull the bar in too long and you stall all speed in the kite.
