Nope that will not happen. I had the hydra 350 out once in max wind. I was in a polar sled on clean ice. I slingshot myself like a tube behind a boat.
Broke the brake line on the kite recorded 70 mph on the GPS.
NEVER again. This kite should work for be in the 12 mph wind .

wait what??? if your doing 70 in anything you should be answering my questions...but,imo...9m dp is a huge kite to look at after the hydra...thats my
go to dp size for what i like to be out in..but it was pretty intimidating after mostly flying a 3m fb...your kinda big and seem to have a grasp of
this so the 5m sounds like what your looking for..but you need to start out slow(lite winds) till you have that kite figured out..i still vote that
you need to own a 3-3.5m fb to cover the winds..minimum 2 kite fb quiver when you can take care of that...and a helmet 1st,and a harness 2nd..ya gotta
be careful and fly the rest of your life you know

I am probably not the best person to answer that as I have only been on Calhoun a few times. It was decent the times I have ridden there. The bigger
the better though. I am usually on White Bear. Minnetonka and Waconia are also very popular.
After trying a few of the smaller lakes that were very close to home I gave up on them because the wind was never very smooth or consistent. That was
just because of the trees and homes on the shoreline.
Have you checked out the chatter on the local LAKAWA forum? There is also a 'Lakes' page that has some info. on the most popular places to go.

I picked up an ozone summit 10 M at Bigmikeskites.
1 weigh 185. The guy I'm going to take lessons from told me I should have gotten 14M.
Go figure.
I had 8 mph winds yesterday and I had no problem ski
Kiteing in 6 in of MN powder snow.
Tacked up and down the lake all afternoon. Lots of dirty air. I need a bigger lake.

14m Can be fun but the 10m is a better all rounder. If you're going to have 1 kite in your weight the 10m is the sweet spot in the Summit line.

i can believe the 70 mph, if you are flying in 30-40 mph wind. you can build up speed really fast with the hydra 350. it has incredible upwind ability
