Kiting in Houston?
Hi, I've just moved to Houston, Texas from Scotland, and have also just started powerkiting (just the kite at the moment, not a buggy/board). Does
anyone know of a good place to fly in the area, or nearby? Everywhere i've tried (beaches/parks) , there are too many people about.

I'm in midtown, so not too far from Galveston. Is it a good place for beginners?
I checked out that website Chris, and registered, it looks cool!

I'm on my way down tomorrow. It is the ultimate place for everyone in power kiting! Buggiers, kite boarders, kite fliers, beginners you name it.
Come on down, you won't regret it.
Steve.

Check out the local group www.kiteshark.org as well. Mainly single line kite flyers, but a few like me that are addicted to power kites as well... there is a listing of
some of the flying fields they use on there as well.
Sylvan Beach park is close to town in La Porte.
The Texas City Levee is a fantastic place to kiteboard year round (with a wetsuit in the winter).
Almost any beach is desserted during the winter. ( I went monday.... hard packed and absolutly empty...)
Depending on the school, some of them don't care if you use their parking lots and soccer fields. (sunday mornigs are the best for this).
