Where to KiteSki near Mammoth?


Is there anywhere near mammoth to kite ski?

how would a 7.5 HQ do up there?

I've been there once before to kite in 2005, I believe. There are wide open areas off Green Church Road (south of mammoth on 395) that work well if there is a decent snow base. Just past where some of the hot springs are located.

There are a few places around Mammoth. However it's been a bad year for snow so the only snow has been on the slopes. Haven't been up there this season but chances are there's nothing kiteable snow wise. You can kitesurf up there as well but it may still be a little too cold. There are still lots to see and do up there and it's beautiful up there if you are traveling that way though.
