Kite durability

Sorry folks. I am new to kiting and am asking many questions. Here goes:
In my instruction manual the only warning not connected to geting hurt was to avoid crashing the kite with the leading edge hitting the ground. Please tell me how bad this is, the chance of blowing out the stiching, crashing in general...will a few crashes on the wing tips rub them raw. I'm flying on turf... wet, wet turf. More like wetlands. I really want to know if I have to be careful, or how careful, in flying and landing and crashing...I don't want to ruin my kite.

My Beamer 3.6 has taken some pretty good crashes, I've bounced it off pavement a couple of times, and whumped it on dirt several times. It has not ripped any seams that I have found. Pavement is just like giant sandpaper so I don't make a habit out of contacting it with any kite. I would think turf would be much less abrasive.
I had the Beamer at Lincoln City once, and found it gathered a lot more sand than I would think they could. I just held it by the trailing edge and spent some time shaking it out upsidedown. It will take awhile for it to mostly disappear.
Have fun!

On turf it should be pretty hard to kill, the only way to burst a cell is if the kite lands squarely nose down, even then it's hard to pop them. I've seen it happen to a buddies kite, but he crashed it squarely nose down on water and it sealed up great, no where for the air to go. If you crash on an angle, prettly little chance of doing any damage. One other problem though is twigs and sticks, If there's pointy stuff like twigs or shrubs sticking out of the ground and you drag the kite over it then there's a pretty good chance of tearing the kite.
