PL Phantoms: do I need a 15?!

Hi

I currently have 6m, 12m and 18m Phantoms. Would I get much use out of a 15m?

And what about the 24, is it worth it having an 18m already?

The plan is to get a 9 as soon as I manage to sell my old kites.
My main kiting activity is buggying with a big racebuggy on a soft-ish beach.

Opinions, please!

Cheers
Koen

you need both of them, in colors you don't already have, and you need to stack them, stack them all!

Which phantoms do you have the original or the new model, and yes a 15m would be nice to have as well.

What are you using them for?

If they are Phantom 2 the 15m (for us on skis) is the goto size. Lighter winds the 24m is a hell of a good time but bar pressure is high so long term use can be an issue. Last season was a light wind season and I was on the 24m most of the time. Got a nice case of kiter elbow at the end of the season. Mostly on the right side and mostly from doing kiteloops. She actually kiteloops nice.

18m and 24 have some overlap but still distinct kites. 15m has the broadest wind range and what it lacks in raw power it makes up with maneuverability.

I was always told but the PL folks that the 24 was normally meant for the heavier rider ending more grunt over the 18. Sound like it might do well for you with a heavy bug in softer sand. I can believe the bar pressure Feyd talks about though.

Yeah that 15 sure is a sweet spot for wide wind range!

They are all 2012 models. Before i flew V2's, Syns, Charger 1's and my beloved Vortex 12. I tried the Charger2 but don't like it, it just pulls me sideways.

As I said mainly buggying. I ride an apexx in bigfoots with some weights on the back for balance as my legs are quite long so I had the downtube made longer.
I'm also picking up landboarding again and in the summer I go on the water but not often.

What I expect of the kite is it keeping up with racekites while enjoying ARC-comfort and stability. Thats why I'm selling all my non phantom arcs.

I haven't had bar pressure issues since they put stoppers on the depower line. I use those constantly. Changing the position along with course changes in the buggy.

Today I was out landboarding on the 18 in 14kts offshore and got abit spanked by the wind dropping an reappearing like mad...
