A long strap with a Fastex clip on the ends is a very simple hitch and quite versatile. It can be a hitch, a walk-of-shame tow rope, or a two rope
for a buggy with an injured kite or pilot.
Only rope might be simpler.

What I did for my tandem was to weld-up a new "downtube" for the buggy in tow that acted as the "trailer tongue"... I made it long enough to where the
foot pegs on it would not hit the tires if I turned really sharp. It is all made of 1.5" square tube. I welded a nut to the end and threaded a 3/8"
eye bolt through that welded nut.
For the hitch, I used a piece of 3/16" flat bar (bent as needed) and welded a 1/2" bolt on the tail end. I slid a 3/4 OD pipe over the bold and after
the eyebolt from the "tongue" slides over that pipe, I use a large fender washer and wing nut to hold it in place...
I remember seeing an older post where Angus had made something out of oak that connected the foot pegs of the buggy in tow to the back axle of the
front buggy.
I'm going to take a nap now

i have a hitch on the one buggy and a tow bar that goes around the footpegs of the buggy being pulled. This gives the passenger a place to rest their
feet aside from the back of my axle. i will have to take some pics

here is my solution.
its a driveshaft from a 4x4 wich can hold to up +1000 kg of torque,
way more than evere will happen during buggying.
notice the arrow i draw what means the axle needs to be able to rotate also in the length-direction.
to be able i welded a bolt without tread into a double nut and welded that into the shaft going to the other buggy.
where the bold rotate is on the underside a grease-nipple..
the cable you see is extra safety that goes on the axle of teh towing buggy incase the joint breaks the axle doesnt immidiatly buries into the sand
and launches the co-pilot...:D:D
